On the 4th of October Tim and I went to Gilze-Rijen in the Netherlands for a day of spotting. We heard that an excercise called Autumn Falcon was held during a period of two weeks and that the German Army should participate with Tigers and NH-90's. When we arrived we saw already two Tigers in the landing, after an hour we saw the same Tigers already taxiing back to the runway. After the departure of these we saw two chinooks and two cougars from the Netherlands Air Force doing some circuits above the field. One of the two Chinooks did some practicing cargosling. After almost two hours the Tigers came back to land and the two NH-90's from the German Army that landed before our arrival were already taxiing to the runway. After the departure also two Apaches departed for some local flights. When everything was back on the ground we decided to leave Gilze and going back home.

On the 21st December I went for the last time this year to Gilze-Rijen, because it was so late in the year I was not expecting much movements. I was surprised that during the three hours I was at Gilze-Rijen AFB, I saw 2 CH-47D Chinooks, 2 AS532 Cougars and 2 AH-64D Apache helicopters flying and another Apache did some engine tests. When I arrived one Cougar was performing cargo sling exercises with different types of cargo. During the landing of the Chinook, two Apaches where already taxiing to the runway. I was surprised when they took the front taxiway to the runway, for me the first time I saw this but this resulted in nice pictures. After there mission and landing I went back home.
